Would My Cat Be Happy In A Dorm Room? (i Would Have Permission For It To Live There.)?

Background info:
-I am going to be an RA in a dorm.
-I live about an hour from my house, and have a car.
-My cat could be at my house when I am not at school.
-I am in my room more often than not, and do not often overnight in other places. (The RA aspect encourages me to be in my room a lot.)
I am looking into the process of talking to our student resident life offices about the possibility of me getting a cat to live in my dorm room with me next year. I will only be getting one if they give me permission, so I won’t be trying to “sneak” it in or keep it secret. As an RA, I will have a room to myself, but it is a dorm room. It will either be a single or double size.
Most answers I have seen to this sort of question have been against the idea because of the secrecy of having to sneak it in or the worries about what will happen in the summer and it potentially being abandoned. These problems don’t apply to me.
Things I have thought will be a problem: Allergies from my residents (I was thinking about only getting one if I got permission from each resident), and how to keep it from leaving my room when my door is open (I was thinking about a tall child gate).
I am just wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether or not a cat could be happy in a dorm sized room. I would create many nooks and hiding spaces for it to live in (under my bed, in a closet etc) and would have a kitty tree and many toys for it to play with. The litter box could be an issue, but I am confident I could find one that would have strong odor minimizing properties. I have a cat at my house, and know all the different aspects of taking care of them.
The reason I am actually looking into trying to pursue this possibility (versus daydreaming about it) is because my mom has a fatal disease (time left unknown but not more than a couple years I think) and I think that having a cat next year would provide me with much needed support and relief from anxiety.
I would appreciate any thoughtful and insightful input on this idea. If anyone has experience with how much of an odor a litter box would have and how cats deal in such a small area, that is of most interest to me.

Ok so I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that I had a sinus infection. So now the doctor issued antibiotics which are long pills and I have never took a long pill on my life. The doctor warned me that they were going to be small pills & when she said that , I thought literally small pills! But noo , they’re long as crap ! I’m scared and don’t know how to take the pill like a man . I asked my mom could she open the pill and pour the powder in my drink and she said no , it doesn’t work like that -______-

Cancer Patients…please Help?

Hello everyone,
I am a 29 year old female and each day struggle some days better then others. For about the past 5 months or so I have constantly felt like I have been fighting a sinus infection – sore throat, horrible headaches, and an earache which I would think was related to the migraine. My lymph nodes in my neck are constantly tender and I have always had a bad immune system.
In addition I began to feel constant body aches, random bruising, random body sweats and dizziness, sensitivity to noise, extreme extreme fatigue and the worst thing is I feel like I have no short term memory as well as this brain “fog”. There are times where I feel as if it is challenging to even hold a conversation with someone. The last few days I also noticed a few spots ( on my stomach, around my chest, and under my arms ) little rash which just looks like broken blood vessels. Sometimes more so at night my legs become pretty itchy, and my sides ( this could just be the weather but I am paying attention to everything now)
I went to the Drs and got routine blood work. The Dr called me in and informed me that I have severe anemia, and I had a slightly elevated white blood cell count. ( This was about two months ago)Had appointment with hemotologist will start iron infusions next week…other appointments are being scheduled. any suggestions….

What Kinda Dog Snorts?

My dog snorts like a little piggy, she does this when she excited. It’s kinda cute. I read some other posts that say combined with a cough, and she doesn’t cough. Or sound like a asthma attack, it is usually when she wants to snuggle or when you first get home. But she will rub her head on you and start snorting. Is it a breed thing??

Mucous Retention Cyst In Left Maxillary Sinus?

February 28, 2012 by

Okay, so I recently got a CT scan done because I was constantly dizzy and had headaches. They found that everything was fine, except for a retention cyst in the “left maxillary sinus”. I don’t know where that is, but I’ve googled it, and I think it’s the cheek-area. Anyway, I have a few questions.
I’m most probably getting it operated, so how would the procedure go? I’ve never gotten a surgery before, so I have no idea.
Will I have to stay in the hospital for a few days after this?
What caused this?
Thanks in advance!
